MDoubleTracker is a doubler that widens mono or stereo sources by adding small pitch and delay variations, in the tradition of hardware doubling effects.
It runs with 16x upsampling, supports M/S and surround channel modes, and costs $90.
Best for: Vocals, Guitars, Keys & Synths, Mix Bus. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: wide, electric guitar, vocals, mid/side, thick, synths, auto-gain, bus processing, enhancement, full mix, lead vocals, linear-phase, metering, MIDI-controllable, minimum-phase, mix bus, mixing, modern, organic, oversampling, phaser, randomize, resizable UI, sidechain input.
What it does
MDoubleTracker is MeldaProduction's artificial double tracker, sold as a "natural-sounding artificial stereo expander" for guitars and vocals. It builds width from small pitch and delay variations, the trick the developer says hardware such as the Eventide H3000 used for decades, and adds Melda's modern routing and modulation on top.
- Doubling engine: pitch and delay variation create a thicker, wider copy of a mono or stereo source, without recording a second take.
- Channel modes: mono, stereo, mid/side, separate left and right, surround up to 8 channels and ambisonics up to 64 channels (7th order).
- Upsampling: adjustable upsampling with minimum-phase and linear-phase algorithms, plus 64-bit processing at any sample rate.
- Modulators: 4 modulators that can act as LFO, level follower, ADSR envelope, randomizer or pitch detector, and can listen to the side-chain.
- Level safety: automatic gain compensation keeps the output as loud as the input, and a brickwall safety limiter keeps it below 0 dB.
- Comparison: A-H slots for up to 8 settings, A-D morphing on an X-Y pad, multiparameters and MIDI learn.
- Interface: resizable, stylable, GPU-accelerated GUI with metering for levels, stereo width and loudness.

When to use it
MDoubleTracker is the pick when you want a doubling effect with more control than a one-knob widener. Compared with Polyverse Wider, it has real pitch and delay doubling, modulators and surround modes, but it takes more tweaking to dial in. Unlike iZotope Ozone Imager or Waves S1 Stereo Imager, it does not just rebalance existing stereo width; it creates a second, slightly detuned and delayed voice. It is also cheaper than most hardware-style doublers, and it fits neatly into a MeldaProduction workflow with the same A-H slots and modulators as the rest of the range.
- Best for: thickening lead vocals, rhythm guitars and amp-sim tones, and widening mono synth parts.
- Genres: any style; most useful in rock, metal and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want the feel of a real second performance with timing drift; record a second take, or try a dedicated vocal doubler. For simple width on a stereo bus, Ozone Imager is quicker.
- Tip: users report that the presets can still cause phasing, so tweak the parameters and check in mono rather than relying on presets alone.
What producers say
Guitar players on the Seymour Duncan forum liked its width and control, while noting it imitates rather than replaces real double tracking.
- Seymour Duncan forum thread users praised getting stereo width "without introducing phase problems" and the control over fine settings; one found it better than the TC Mimiq pedal, which they said always added phasing.
- Criticisms: some presets still produce phase artifacts that need manual adjustment, and several users stressed it is not a substitute for real doubled takes.
