What it does

MAutoPitch is MeldaProduction's free automatic pitch correction plugin for vocals and other monophonic instruments. The developer pitches it as "quick, easy to use", with a few creative extras on top of plain tuning.

Automatic tuning: pulls monophonic audio towards the correct pitch in real time.
Depth and Speed: Depth sets how strongly notes are corrected; Speed sets how quickly the correction reacts.
Detune: offsets the overall pitch.
Formant shift: changes the character of the voice independently of pitch.
Stereo expansion: a built-in widener for creative doubling-style width.
Interface: resizable, stylable GUI, MIDI learn, full automation, and mono, stereo or surround processing.

MAutoPitch is free, as a separate download or as part of MeldaProduction's MFreeFXBundle. The current version listed on KVR is 17.10.

When to use it

MAutoPitch is a good first tuner: free, real-time and simple, with formant and width controls that make it useful for effects too. Compared with Auto-Tune Pro 11 and Melodyne 5 editor it has no graphical note editing and no polyphonic correction, but it costs nothing. Against Graillon 3 it offers similar quick correction, while Graillon leans further into creative pitch effects. Compared with paid real-time tuners such as Waves Tune Real-Time and MetaTune, it has a shorter control set but no cost.

Best for: quick vocal tuning on demos and home recordings, light real-time correction, and creative formant and width effects on a budget.
Genres: pop, hip-hop, trap, R&B and electronic.
Look elsewhere if: you need note-by-note editing or polyphonic correction (Melodyne 5) or a pro real-time standard (Auto-Tune Pro 11).

What producers say

The few user reviews are very positive, mainly because the quality is high for a free plugin.

KVR users rate it 5 out of 5 from 1 review (2019), which said it "blows away Logic Pro's built-in plugin" for the same job and gives "extremely professional results".
Advice: the same reviewer suggests it as a free alternative to paid auto-tune software, moving to Melodyne only if you outgrow it.
