What it does

SA-3 is a spectral processor for detecting and removing unwanted spikes, resonances and persistent peaks.

Resolution: more than 1,000 bands of spectral processing.
Detection: Detect and Monitor controls to find and audition what's being removed.
Bias curve: user-programmable curve with Focus, Range and Density controls.
Routing: mid/side processing and side-chain support.

When to use it

A resonance and harshness tamer in the vein of oeksound soothe3, the rated plugin in this category. Use it on vocals, guitars and full mixes when you want to smooth spikes without drawing EQ curves by hand. The SA-2 is the older, five-band alternative.
