What it does

ML8000 is a limiter that uses two separate processing stages to adjust peaks, aimed at mastering and bus work.

Limiting: look-ahead brick-wall limiter with multi-stage peak detection and six limiter modes.
Multiband: multiband limiting with moveable frequency bands, plus Solo and Link functions.
Shaping: Knee and Mode controls, and a Snap function that sets the threshold automatically.
Display: real-time spectrum analyser; low latency, double precision.

When to use it

A limiter for loudness control on masters and buses, with the multiband option for frequency-dependent limiting. It competes with FabFilter Pro-L 2 and TDR Limiter 6 GE; the ML4000 is the one to use if you also want a gate, expander and compressor.
