What it does

The AE600 is a six-band parametric EQ whose bands can be fixed or active, reacting to the input or to a side-chain.

Bands: six fully overlapping fixed and active bands with independent controls.
EQ modes: 13 selectable modes, including parametric, proportional Q, 5x Q, Baxandall shelving, vintage and X-style shelving.
Active EQ: threshold, ratio, attack and release controls, with side-chain and key monitoring.
Practical: pre-filter, control linking, metering, zero latency and double precision.

When to use it

The larger sibling of the AE400, with two extra bands and many more EQ shapes. It suits mixing and mastering jobs where you want dynamic control at several frequencies, similar in purpose to TDR Nova or Waves F6, but built around McDSP's EQ-mode approach.
