What it does
Cinematic Rooms Professional is LiquidSonics' "surround room reverb for music & post mixing up to 9.1.6 Atmos." It is an algorithmic reverb aimed at transparent, realistic room simulation, and the Professional edition extends the Standard edition with deeper surround and sound-shaping controls.
- Channel formats: stereo through 9.1.6 Atmos, with decay up to 45 seconds or infinite, reverb and reflection roll-off, contouring and tempo-synced pre-delay.
- Surround planes: parameters can be edited separately for the front, rear, side, center and elevated channel planes, with crossfeed disparity and reflection width controls.
- Modulation and echo: separate reflection and reverb chorus engines plus a reverb echo feature.
- Dynamics: a ducker/compressor with sidechain input and a gate that can be triggered from the wet or dry signal.
- Presets: 480 in total, including 80 post-production rooms and artist presets from industry mixers and composers (the Standard edition has 80).
Version 1.3.9 is the current release. An upgrade from Standard is available.

When to use it
Cinematic Rooms Professional is a room and hall reverb for people who mix in surround. FabFilter Pro-R 2 and Valhalla Room cover similar realistic spaces in stereo for far less, and LiquidSonics' own Seventh Heaven Professional recreates a specific hardware unit with a sweeter, more colored tail. Pick Cinematic Rooms Professional when you need natural rooms that scale across Atmos beds with per-plane control.
- Best for: orchestral and score mixing, post-production rooms, and natural ambience on acoustic sources in stereo or immersive formats.
- Genres: film and game scoring, classical, jazz, acoustic and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want lo-fi, trashy or heavily colored reverb, or you only mix in stereo and want to spend less; the Standard edition or Valhalla Room may be enough.
- Standout: surround plane editing, which lets front, rear, side and height channels behave differently within one reverb.

Reviewers and users praise its realism and ease of use for room sounds; the main caveat is that it is designed never to sound bad, which limits it as an effect.
