What it does
The EQ825 is a model of a rare tube mastering equaliser built around inductor-based filters, tube circuitry and high-headroom transformers.
- Bands: five stereo parametric bands plus variable high-pass and low-pass filters.
- Saturation: a variable THD control.
- Octave Filler: adds a lower octave to the signal.
- Utilities: mid/side processing, a Mono Maker below 200 Hz, an FFT analyser, A/B comparison and up to 16x oversampling.

When to use it
The EQ825 is for mastering and mix-bus work where you want an EQ with tube and transformer colour, unlike the surgical clean approach of FabFilter Pro-Q 4. It is a different flavour from the Pultec collections, which offer passive-style boost and cut.
