What it does
The 354E is a three-band version of a vintage diode-bridge compressor from Lindell Audio.
- Bands: low, mid and high, each compressed independently with adjustable crossovers.
- Ratios: 1.5:1 to 6:1, with attack as fast as 2 microseconds.
- SMASH: a mode for heavy over-compression.
- Stereo handling: mid/side mode and a sidechain high-pass filter.
- Also: a Niveau filter for keeping bass intact, a Mix control for parallel work, auto release and optional auto makeup gain.

When to use it
Use the 354E when you want diode-bridge grit but need to treat bass, mids and highs differently, for example on a full mix, a drum bus or a busy bass. It's a more coloured, aggressive take on multiband compression than the clean alternatives, and the Mix control makes it easy to blend back.
- Look elsewhere if: you only need one band of compression; the 254E is the single-band relative.
