What it does

LANDR Mastering Plugin brings LANDR's AI mastering into the DAW, so a master is analysed and processed locally instead of being uploaded to the web service. It listens to the track, compares it with a large reference library and sets its own target, then leaves a short set of broad controls for adjusting the result.

AI analysis: measures frequency response, dynamics and stereo width during playback in about 30 seconds, with no genre to choose.
Mastering styles: Warm (softer highs, a vintage feel), Balanced (the default) and Open (more punch and presence).
Tone controls: a three-band EQ with low and high shelves and a 400 Hz mid, a Presence control for the 2.5–5 kHz vocal range, and a De-Esser with Frequency and Amount.
Width and dynamics: a Stereo Width slider running from Focus to Wide, plus single-knob Compression, Character and Saturation controls.
Loudness and metering: a large Loudness knob that sets integrated LUFS, with a LUFS meter, true peak readout and spectral visualizer.
Gain Match and Bypass: level-matched before/after comparison, plus input trim with a colour-coded level indicator.
Two editions: PRO has the full feature set and unlimited in-DAW masters; SE is a streamlined version with AI analysis, metering, input trim and basic controls.

When to use it

LANDR Mastering Plugin is the pick when you want a fast, consistent master made inside the session with little mastering knowledge. Unlike Ozone 12 Maximizer or Elevate, it does not ask you to build the chain or tune a limiter: it proposes a whole master and leaves you a few broad tone, width and loudness controls. That makes it quicker than Ozone's full suite but much less flexible, with no multiband or per-stage settings. Compared with Pro-L 2 it has no limiter styles or detailed true peak options, and it targets peaks around -0.1 dBFS, hotter than many engineers prefer. It is handy for hearing a near-final master while you are still mixing.

Best for: quick demo and release masters inside the DAW, and checking how a mix will translate once mastered.
Genres: any; it sets its target from the track itself rather than a genre choice.
Look elsewhere if: you want control over each stage or exact peak targets; Ozone 12 or a dedicated limiter such as Pro-L 2 gives more.
Tip: use a fresh instance for each song, since copied instances carry over the previous analysis; it also works on vocal and instrument buses.

Mix praised the well-chosen controls and "detailed tooltips", and found it handy during production even when a mastering engineer will finish the record.
