What it does

LANDR Guitar is a phrase instrument that lets non-guitarists build real guitar parts by triggering recorded loops and riffs from a MIDI keyboard. Every set follows the project's tempo and key, so parts fit the song without any music theory or guitar skills.

White keys: trigger longer loops and full riffs.
Orange keys: add embellishments such as bends and trills on top of the riffs.
FX and modifier keys: switch effects and change loop speed, sync, octave and playback direction live.
Eight collections: SLATE (folk/rock), STEEL (hard distortion), SKYLINE (global/dub/urban), GOLD (pop/mainstage), GLIMMER (ambient/spectral), SPIRIT (funk/soul/jazz), SLIDE (blues) and SOLAR (Latin), with more than 60 sets in total.
Tempo and key matching: phrases follow the host tempo and key automatically.
Pedalboard: 5 onboard effects in a customisable pedalboard to shape tone, drive, movement, echo and space.
Multi-part composing: combine riffs and embellishments to build longer, varied guitar arrangements.

It is included in LANDR Studio subscriptions and sold on its own; the product page does not mention a demo.

When to use it

LANDR Guitar is for producers who want a believable guitar part in minutes without playing or programming one. Compared with Trilian or Heavier7Strings, which you play note by note, it gives you recorded performances that sound like a real player but leave little control over individual notes. Its eight style collections range wider than Heavier7Strings, which focuses on metal. Unlike a guitar loop library, it keeps riffs, fills and effects on one keyboard and syncs them to your key and tempo. The trade-off is a fixed set of phrases, so heavy users may start to hear the same riffs.

Best for: quick guitar riffs, fills and textures in beats, songwriting demos and pop productions.
Genres: pop, rock, folk, R&B, funk, soul, blues, Latin, dub and ambient.
Look elsewhere if: you want to play or program your own lines; a playable instrument such as Heavier7Strings or a sampled guitar library fits better.

What producers say

Buyers like the realistic tones and speed but are split on the value, mainly because it plays fixed samples.

Plugin Boutique users rate it 4.3 out of 5 from 30 ratings.
Sweetwater users rate it 3.3 out of 5 from 4 reviews; one called it "perfect for producers who want real-sounding guitar parts fast" and praised the built-in effects.
Criticisms: a Sweetwater reviewer said it "has limited samples" and is "not playable"; another advised trying it before buying.
