What it does
UBK-2 is a compressor from Kush Audio built for groove and movement, the successor to the UBK-1 of 2012.
- Compression: one main compression knob, eight quick-switching curves (including a new gentle low-ratio Cream curve), and adjustable attack and release.
- Saturation: two engines, before and after the compressor.
- EQ and metering: a 4-band vintage-style EQ and a Tri-Meter showing input, output and gain reduction together.

When to use it
UBK-2 is a colour-and-groove compressor rather than a transparent one; the curves and two saturation stages make it closer to a channel strip than to a single-hardware emulation.
- Best for: drums, bass, vocals and buses that need punch and movement.
- Genres: hip-hop, rock, pop and electronic.
Where to buy
