What it does
Omega 2 - Model N is a saturation plugin built on the distortion of a classic British console circuit, which Kush says it has "fundamentally revoiced" to reduce the original's boxy resonances. It is the Model N voice of Kush's Omega 2 range and an update of the earlier Omega N.
- Character: a weighty bottom end, steely highs and low mids that stay solid until they flatten into a compact "thwack" as you push harder.
- Low-end behaviour: at higher intensity it reorganises the low end, placing the fundamental just under its second harmonic, so bass sounds bigger while taking up less room in the mix.
- Updated algorithms: saturation and EQ filters revised compared with the original Omega N.
- Filter XY pad: phase-friendly high- and low-pass filters on one XY control, used to shape what reaches the saturation stage.
- Blend and Makeup XY pad: parallel blend with makeup gain applied before the blend, on a second XY control.
- Metering: Kush's current gain-staging tools, with input and output peak meters and an analog-style VU meter.
- Processing modes: Analog Highs with oversampling, or a Low Latency mode.
- Workflow: a freely resizable interface and copy/paste of settings between the Omega 2 models.
A perpetual license with free updates is available (with an upgrade license from the original), a free 10-day demo is offered, and it is also included in Kush's subscription to all its plugins.

When to use it
Omega 2 - Model N is a focused, low-cost way to add British console weight: one voice, two XY pads and a blend, rather than a menu of saturation types. Compared with Decapitator, it offers a single flavour instead of five, but adds pre-saturation filtering and VU-based gain staging. It is more specific than Softube Saturation Knob, which is quicker but has no filtering or metering, and cheaper than Kazrog True Iron, which models transformers rather than a console circuit. Within the Omega 2 range it is the heavier, warmer, rock-leaning choice and Kush pitches its low-end reshaping at bass that needs to sound louder without crowding the mix.
- Best for: bass, kick, drum busses and guitars that need weight and a thicker low end, plus gentle console colour on mix busses.
- Genres: rock and other guitar-led styles, which Kush names as its main target; also any style that needs heavier bass.
- Look elsewhere if: you want many saturation styles in one plugin (Decapitator) or tape saturation (Ampex ATR-102).
