DS3603 is a distortion pedal plugin that clips the input hard to add harmonics.

Five types: Lead (ringing mids), Heavy, Metal (dark and thick), Classic (singing leads) and Pro (fat with a sharp edge).
Controls: Gain, Tone and Output, A/B buttons, a Dry-Wet blend and up to 8x oversampling.

It is also an Amplifikation 360 module. Kuassa also sells it in a bundle with its Fuzz and Overdrive pedals.

When to use it

A pedal-style distortion for guitar in front of an amp sim, with the Metal and Heavy types suiting rock and metal parts. It works on synths and drums too, but it is a simple guitar effect; the rated distortions (Saturn 2, Thermal, Trash) offer far more control for production use.
