Bass preamp pedal plugin from Kuassa's Efektor stompbox series, designed for bass guitar.

Best for: Bass. Genres: Rock & Indie, Metal.

Keywords: bass, built-in mix knob, bright, oversampling, single-band, tube.

What it does

Bass Cruncher is a tube-driven bass preamp pedal that Kuassa says adds "bright to bite, glow to growl" to bass and other low-frequency sources.

Interface: one screen with no hidden functions, in a resizable window.
Mix and quality: dry/wet knob and up to 8x oversampling.

It works as an Amplifikation 360 module. It is also sold in a Bass Distortion Bundle with two other Efektor bass pedals.

When to use it

Use it for grit and bite on a DI bass; the dry/wet knob lets you keep the low end clean and blend the drive underneath. Where its sibling Bass Driver offers vintage drive and Bass Smasher heavier, fuzz-like distortion, Bass Cruncher is the one for grit and bite.
