What it does

basiQ is Kuassa's original free three-band EQ, described as a Baxandall-style tone control for adding presence, shimmer or oomph.

Controls: Low, Mid and High knobs on a compact interface.
Presets: 12 preset slots.
Processing: mono and stereo, sample rates up to 96 kHz.

Version 1.1. Kuassa still offers it for download but now points to BasiQ 2.

When to use it

A simple sweetening EQ rather than a surgical one, so it suits broad tone shaping on guitars, synths and mixes. Kuassa has since released BasiQ 2, which adds a resizable interface and filters, so most people will prefer that.
