PS-3300 by KORG

A software version of KORG's rare 1977 PS-3300, a fully polyphonic analog synth used by Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre, modeled with Component Modeling Technology.

It models 180 voices, each with its own quirks, and adds MS-20 filter models, a 30-slot mod matrix and 31 effects, for $149.

Best for: Keys & Synths, Sound Design. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Ambient & Cinematic.

Keywords: analog, hardware emulation, polyphonic, 70s, component-modelled, modulation matrix, experimental, licensed emulation, modular, textures, aggressive, circuit-modelled, CPU-heavy, ensemble, evolving, lush, metallic, modern, organ, pads, smooth, sound design, strings, subtractive, tempo-synced, vintage.

What it does

The PS-3300 plugin is KORG's own recreation of its 1977 PS-3300, a rare fully polyphonic analog synth with an independent voice on every key; fewer than 50 were built. It uses KORG's Component Modeling Technology to model the octave-divider oscillators and circuits of the three synth units and the patch panel that links them.

It was released in October 2025 as part of KORG Collection 6 and is also sold alone.

When to use it

The PS-3300 is the pick for rich, slightly unstable analog polyphony and patched textures with a strong 70s character. Compared with Arturia CS-80 V, it is more semi-modular, with a patch panel, resonators and three stacked synth racks instead of a fixed panel. Next to Diva it is less of an all-round analog workhorse and much heavier on CPU, but it gives sounds that few other plugins reach. Synth Anatomy found it more refined and more analog-sounding than Cherry Audio's PS-3300, the other main software version.

What producers say

Early reviews call it a highlight of KORG Collection 6, with high CPU use the main drawback.
