Slammer is a drum instrument from Klevgrand with 30 multi-sampled instruments built from more than 2,000 samples, played across 12 slots.

What it does
Slammer is Klevgrand's drum instrument, sold with the line "Make your next song a slam dunk." It aims for "instant gratification from the first hit", covering anything from natural acoustic hits to heavily distorted and compressed drums.
- Sounds: 30 multi-sampled instruments built from more than 2,000 samples, including drums struck in unusual ways and household objects such as buckets, trays, shovels and crowbars.
- 12 slots: each instrument player has its own gain, pan, pitch, decay and transient (impact) controls.
- Velocity: per-instrument velocity mapping and curve control.
- Dirt section: compression and distortion with eight distortion algorithms.
- Reverb and tone: a built-in reverb with several presets and a global tone control (EQ).
- Presets: a set of factory presets to start from.
The current version is 1.1.2. The free demo is the full version with occasional audio dropouts.

When to use it
Slammer is a small, low-cost drum instrument with its own curated sounds and a built-in dirt and reverb section, aimed at quick, punchy or trashy drums rather than realistic kits. Compared with Battery 4 and XO, it can't load your own samples, but its fixed set of sounds means less browsing and faster results. Unlike EZdrummer 3 or Addictive Drums 2, it has no grooves or multi-mic acoustic kits; its strength is odd, characterful hits pushed through distortion and compression. It costs a fraction of any of those.
- Best for: quick drum parts with built-in grit, experimental and industrial percussion, and layering extra hits on a budget.
- Genres: rock and indie, lo-fi, industrial and experimental, electronic, hip-hop and cinematic.
- Look elsewhere if: you need realistic multi-mic acoustic kits (Superior Drummer 3 or Addictive Drums 2) or want to load your own samples (Battery 4 or XO).

MusicTech found it quick, fun and cheap, but limited by its closed sound set.
- MusicTech rated it 7 out of 10, calling it "quick, easy and inexpensive" and praising the well-sampled sounds, deep per-voice controls and quirky animated interface.
