Grand Finale is an audio finalizer from Klevgrand that combines a multiband compressor, a limiter, a stereo width enhancer and parallel distortion or compression.

It shows LUFS and RMS output meters and comes with presets, for $69.99.

Keywords: mastering, wide, metering, full mix, multi-band, parallel processing, enhancement, bus processing, mix bus.

What it does

Grand Finale is Klevgrand's "Audio Finalizer", sold with the line "Master your mix." It is a pre-routed mastering chain in one window, meant for full mixes but also usable on stems, buses and single tracks.

Input: input level and a high-pass filter to clear out sub-low rumble before processing.
Compressor: a full-band compressor with a choice of algorithms.
Multiband compressor: split-band compression with per-band gain controls, added in version 2.
EQ and width: an EQ section and a stereo width enhancer.
Parallel path: an additive signal path with distortion and/or compression, kept phase-aligned with the main signal so blending it in doesn't smear the sound.
Master limiter: a final limiter in the master section to set the output ceiling.
Metering and presets: input and output level meters, LUFS and RMS output metering, factory and user presets, and window zoom.

The current version is 2.0.2. Version 2 brought a redesigned interface, optimisations and the multiband gain controls. The free demo is the full version with occasional audio dropouts.

When to use it

Grand Finale is the pick for musicians who want to finish their own tracks with one simple, fixed chain rather than assemble a mastering rack. Compared with Pro-L 2, it is far less detailed as a limiter, with no choice of limiting styles or true-peak oversampling options, but it adds compression, EQ, width and parallel colour around the limiter. Next to the Ozone 12 Maximizer and the wider Ozone suite, it has no assistant, reference matching or advanced loudness tools, but it is cheaper and quicker to learn. Against TDR Limiter 6 GE, it trades fine control for a complete chain with LUFS metering in one view.

Best for: quick self-mastering of demos and releases, and finishing stems or buses with compression, width and a final limiter.
Genres: all genres, especially home-produced pop, electronic and singer-songwriter work.
Look elsewhere if: you want precise, transparent limiting (Pro-L 2) or a full mastering suite with assistant and reference tools (Ozone).
