A free algorithmic reverb from Kilohearts with six controls: Decay, Dampen, Size, Width, Early and Mix.

It covers spaces from a closet to a church, and can also be dropped into Phase Plant or Snap Heap chains as a Snapin.

What it does

Reverb is Kilohearts' "Spatial simulation" plugin, a simple reverb for placing sounds in a space and gluing a mix together.

Decay and Dampen: Decay sets how long the tail lasts; Dampen makes high frequencies die away faster.
Size: sets the virtual room from closet-sized to church-sized.
Early: balances early reflections against the late tail.
Width and Mix: set the stereo width of the reverb and the dry/wet balance.
Snapin use: loads in Phase Plant, Multipass or Snap Heap, where its knobs can be modulated and it can be combined with other Snapins.

It also loads as a Snapin inside Kilohearts' Phase Plant, Multipass and Snap Heap. It is free as part of Kilohearts Essentials.

When to use it

Kilohearts Reverb is the pick when you want a quick, light room or hall with few controls, or a reverb block to modulate inside Phase Plant and Snap Heap. It has fewer algorithms and controls than Valhalla Room and Supermassive, though Supermassive is free too, and unlike Kilohearts' own Convolver, it doesn't load impulse responses.

Best for: quick ambience on vocals, drums and synths, and reverb inside Kilohearts sound-design chains.
Genres: any genre.
Look elsewhere if: you want plate or vintage hall characters, pre-delay or modulation settings; Valhalla Room or Supermassive go much further.
Standout: a six-knob reverb that is quick to set up.

What producers say

Reviews of this Snapin on its own are rare; opinion on the Kilohearts Essentials set it belongs to is positive, with the main criticism that the plugins are minimal on their own.

KVR users rate the Kilohearts Essentials set 5/5 from two reviews: one (2022) called it a "Good, useful collection of professional, but compact plugins," and another (2025) praised "Superb lightweight plugins rivaling many commercial and on-hype products!"
The Pro Audio Files (2019) reviewing the Snapin range, found them light on CPU and cost, "yet they sound unexpectedly great," with "clean aesthetic and uncluttered interfaces."
Gripe: a 2026 review of Essentials found that "many of the Essentials plugins feel minimal" on their own, and that they are "designed for precision rather than coloration."
