What it does
Wavesurfer is a drag-and-drop multi-effects plugin from Karanyi Sounds that pairs vintage-style effects with the developer's neural processing. Seven modules sit in one chain you can reorder, with a master section at the end.
- Chain: seven modules that can be bypassed one by one and dragged into any order.
- Delay and Autopan: a tempo-synced delay with feedback and filter presets, and tempo-synced stereo panning with a phase offset.
- Neural Amp: saturation and overdrive trained on classic and modern analog hardware, with a combo filter before the drive.
- Phaser and Glue: a phaser with rate and depth, and a modulated compressor for holding the chain together.
- Neural Reverb: a Learn button analyses the incoming audio and sets the reverb, then an X-Y pad steers it.
- Filter Pulse: tempo-synced filter movement driven by a 16-step sequencer.
- Master section: a high/low-pass combo filter, tonal EQ, stereo imager, stereo chorus/wow, input and output gain, and a parallel dry/wet.
Presets cover synths, drums, mixing and experimental effects; the Hurricane edition adds 30 more. The current version is 1.0.0. It is also sold through Plugin Alliance. A 7-day trial is available. The developer's store has had it on sale at a steep discount.

When to use it
Wavesurfer is the quick option for adding movement, drive and space in one window: a fixed set of seven effects you reorder by dragging, with neural amp and reverb modules for character. Compared with Multipass or Soundtoys Effect Rack it is less open-ended, since you can't add more effect types or build complex routing. Unlike Lifeline Expanse, which is built around presets, it puts every module's controls in front of you.
- Best for: adding movement, drive and space to synths, guitars, loops and vocals in one plugin.
- Genres: electronic, lo-fi, pop and ambient music.
- Look elsewhere if: you want to build chains from a large library of effects or modulate everything; Multipass offers more.
- Tip: press Learn on the Neural Reverb so it sets itself from the source, then fine-tune on the X-Y pad.
