Drum processor that removes cymbal bleed from tom tracks using filter-based automation instead of a conventional gate.
Best for: Drums. Genres: Rock & Indie, Metal.
Keywords: drums, downward expansion, single-band.
What it does
Tominator removes cymbal bleed from tom tracks using a moving filter instead of a gate.
- How it works: an internal filter opens on each tom transient, then closes gradually to cut the cymbal noise.
- Controls: Speed sets how fast the filter moves; Cutoff sets the frequency where it stops.

When to use it
Try it when a gate makes toms sound choppy or cuts their decay short. It helps most on toms in multi-mic drum recordings, common in rock and metal.
