Howard Benson Vocal Multiplier by Joey Sturgis Tones

Creates additional vocal parts and doubles from a single vocal take, made with producer Howard Benson.

Best for: Vocals. Genres: Rock & Indie, Pop, Metal.

Keywords: vocals, wide, glue, samples & loops.

What it does

Vocal Multiplier turns a single vocal take into several layered voices, made with producer Howard Benson. It creates doubles using a Sample & Hold algorithm that varies pitch and timing across the generated voices.

Voice generation: an XY pad balances number of voices against stereo width, with controls for pitch modulation depth and timing.
Tone: high and low shelves and a low octave generator.
Post processing: 5 saturation types, compression/glue, 7 delay options and 5 reverb options.
Other: vocal density selector, filter, input mute and a mono low-end option.

When to use it

Useful for fattening choruses and backing vocals in rock and pop when you don't have time to record or edit real doubles. Settings range from tight doubles to wide stacks. It is a generated effect, so it won't match the realism of properly tracked doubles.
