What it does
Bassforge Bonecrusher is a bass amp simulator for rock and metal that matches its amp and cabinet to your DI recording. It has two amp models and a full processing chain.
- Two amps: Bonecrusher, a high-gain modern amp with Gravel, Grind and Crush controls, and Skullcrusher, a gain-morphing amp with a character slider from clean to aggressive.
- Cabinets: two cabinets in parallel (JST Matched Cab and an Ampeg 8x10) with a blend slider, four mic models (PR40, U87, 421 and JST Sub Kick) and an IR loader.
- EQ: a vintage-style 5-band EQ, a 24-band digital EQ with mid/side and dynamic options, and a 7-band graphic EQ.
- Dynamics and effects: dual-band compression, chorus, reverb and a tube preamp.
- Performance: Live Mode for switching tones and full MIDI mapping.

When to use it
Best for distorted, aggressive bass in rock and metal, especially when you have a clean DI and want a finished tone quickly. It is a bass-specific tool, unlike the guitar-focused rated amp sims such as Neural DSP Archetype or AmpliTube. It has a different amp and mic set from Hellraiser, from the same series.
