What it does

A T-RackS tape machine model based on the TEAC A-6100 MKII, a 1973 two-track deck that IK calls one of the first machines made for mastering.

Tape formulas: 911, 456, GP9 and 499.
Speed: 7.5/15 or 15/30 ips.
Calibration and EQ: record and playback head calibration and record/playback EQ controls.
Signal path: Input or Repro modes, with record bias adjustment.
Realism: true stereo processing and transport modeling.
Available in the TASCAM Tape Collection, T-RackS 6 Max and Total Studio 5 Max.

When to use it

A two-track mastering deck, so use it on the stereo bus or on stems for light 1970s tape colour. It sits between the polished Studer-style machines and the rougher TASCAM units.
