What it does

EQ PA is a three-band discrete EQ and preamp in T-RackS 6.

EQ: three bands with 21 selectable frequencies and a proportional Q that widens at low gain and sharpens with boost or cut.
Bands: the outer bands switch between peaking and shelving.
Filters: high-pass and low-pass, with a band-pass combination.
Preamp: input and output controls for clean gain or distortion.

When to use it

IK models American console EQ circuitry from the late 60s and 70s. The proportional Q makes small boosts gentle and large ones focused, which is good for quick, musical moves. It differs from the Pultec-style plugins in the rated EQ list, which are passive, program-style boost and cut EQs.
