What it does

PTEq-X is a free emulation from Ignite Amps of three vintage passive program equalisers, for tracking, mixing and mastering.

Modules: three EQ modules with analog-style curves.
Tubes: tube stage modelling with four tube types.
Frequencies: more selectable frequencies than the original hardware designs.
Extras: linear-phase oversampling to reduce aliasing, 64-bit processing; version 1.1.1.

When to use it

A free option for Pultec-style low and high boosts and smooth broad curves. Compared with paid options such as the Universal Audio Pultec Passive EQ Collection and Waves PuigTec EQs, it costs nothing.
