What it does

TrackUtility MK2 is HoRNet's "enhanced multi utility audio tool": the small jobs you do on almost every channel, gathered in one plugin. It handles gain, phase, channel routing, width and output safety, with metering on top.

Gain and auto gain: gain from -60 dB to +60 dB, plus Auto Gain that sets the level for you in Peak or RMS mode.
Channel tools: mute, DC offset removal and separate phase reversal for the left and right channels.
Channel selector: L+R, left only, right only, or left and right swapped.
Pan and width: a pan control and a stereo width control that also works as a fake stereo simulator on mono tracks.
Output protection: an output clipper and HoRNet's Magnus limiter with three auto release times.
Metering: a peak output meter and an RMS meter with an adjustable analysis window.
Grouping: link instances so one change moves the same parameter on several tracks.

Version 2.1.1 comes with a 15-day money-back guarantee. The demo is fully functional, but it drops to silence now and then, cannot save settings with a session and ignores host automation.

When to use it

TrackUtility MK2 is a channel toolbox, not an analysis tool. Compared with your DAW's built-in utility, its extras are auto gain, a safety clipper and limiter, mono-to-fake-stereo width and grouping across instances, for a very low price. Free tools such as MeldaProduction's MUtility cover the same basic jobs, so it mainly earns its place if you want those extras in one small window. Unlike Youlean Loudness Meter 2 or Insight 2, it has no LUFS loudness metering; its peak and RMS meters are for gain staging, not delivery targets. Its value is convenience rather than any new sound.

Best for: gain staging, phase and channel fixes, quick width or mono checks, and catching stray peaks on any track or bus.
Genres: any; it is a general mixing tool.
Look elsewhere if: you need loudness or spectrum analysis (Youlean Loudness Meter 2, SPAN, Insight 2), or your DAW's utility already does all you need.
