HarmoniQ by HoRNet

HarmoniQ is an automatic EQ that analyzes audio, detects the fundamental and removes inharmonic frequencies with up to 50 precision filters.

An Effect Amount knob scales the cuts, up to -18 dB per filter, and a Delta mode lets you hear what is removed. It costs €34.99 (about $39.73).

Best for: Vocals, Acoustic Instruments, Guitars, Mix Bus. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: vocals, AUv3/iOS, dynamic, A/B compare, acoustic guitar, bus processing, corrective, electric guitar, full mix, mix bus, mixing, resizable UI.

What it does

HarmoniQ is HoRNet's "automatic equalizer designed to effortlessly clean up your sound." It uses FFT analysis to find the fundamental of the source and cuts frequencies that don't belong to its harmonic series.

The current version is 1.1.5. HoRNet offers a 15-day money-back guarantee, and the demo silences periodically and does not save settings or respond to automation.

When to use it

HarmoniQ is the pick for cleaning up a single tonal source by what doesn't fit its harmonics, rather than by what is loud or harsh. Compared with soothe3, it does not chase resonances dynamically across a dense mix; it learns a set of filters from the note's harmonic series and then holds them. Unlike TDR Arbiter or OD Finesse, it needs almost no setup beyond the amount and frequency limits. It is also far cheaper than soothe3, though users warn it can leave a source sounding sterile if pushed.

What producers say

Feedback from iOS users is mixed: useful for problem tracks, but some find the result sterile.
