What it does

DeeLay Plus is HoRNet's "creative digital delay": two independent delay lines with modulation, filtering and grit in the feedback path. It is meant for sound design as much as plain echoes, from subtle stereo widening to self-oscillating textures.

Two delay units: each up to 5 seconds, set in milliseconds or synced to host tempo, with its own feedback and its output routed to the left or right channel.
Cross-feedback: the two delays can feed into each other for ping-pong and evolving stereo patterns.
Endless loop: a 100% feedback mode that holds the repeats indefinitely.
Feedback filters and drive: 6 dB/oct low-pass and high-pass filters plus an adjustable distortion stage, all inside the feedback loop, so each repeat gets darker, thinner or dirtier.
Converter emulation: an AD converter stage from 8 to 24 bits for lo-fi, vintage-digital repeats.
Two LFOs: 0.1 to 10 Hz with sine, triangle, sawtooth and square waves, each routable to delay time and feedback at once.
Workflow: linked editing of delay time and feedback, input/output waveform display, input and output peak meters, and a dry/wet knob.

The current version is 1.3.1 (a May 2026 update that fixed a Windows crash). The demo works fully but goes silent now and then, cannot save settings and ignores host automation.

When to use it

DeeLay Plus is a low-cost, hands-on dual delay for modulated, degraded and cross-fed echoes. Compared with EchoBoy, it has no models of tape, analog or classic digital hardware, and its character comes from the feedback filters, distortion and bit-depth stage instead. Against Valhalla Delay and Timeless 3 it is far simpler: there is no diffusion or modulation matrix, and Computer Music noted the filters have a single slope and their cutoff cannot be modulated. It is closer in scope to Waves H-Delay, but it adds two LFOs, an endless loop mode and true two-line cross-feedback, at a fraction of most rivals' prices.

Best for: cross-fed stereo echoes, dub-style feedback loops, wobbling modulated repeats and gritty lo-fi delays.
Genres: electronic, dub, ambient, experimental, rock and pop.
Look elsewhere if: you want tape or bucket-brigade echo models (EchoBoy), or deep modulation and filter routing (Timeless 3).

What producers say

Reviewers see it as a lot of delay for very little money, with the filters the main limitation.

Computer Music (via MusicRadar, 2017) said it "delivers a hell of a lot of delay action for the money", praising how easy and flexible it is, the free stereo panning of the two delays and the cross-routing of their feedback.
Criticisms: Computer Music wanted more filter slopes and the ability to modulate the filter cutoffs, and found the waveform display "pretty if not particularly useful."
