FURY is Heavyocity's creative distortion plugin, with 29 drive and distortion modules that can be combined in over 700 ways.
A modulation page with LFO, envelope follower and step sequencer, plus gate, feedback and pre/post EQ, suits it to rhythmic mangling; it costs $119.

What it does
FURY is Heavyocity's semi-modular distortion designer: you build a distortion by picking one module for each of three stages, from analog-modelled circuits to lo-fi crush and hard clipping. The developer's pitch is to "shape, mangle, and crunch any sound source", from subtle warmth to extreme drive.
- Three-stage chain: Drive (8 input modes such as Clean, Mellow, Mid+ and Rodent), Distortion (15 circuits, including tubes, fuzz, console, bit-crush, fold, tape and broken valve) and Tone (6 output filters).
- 29 modules: together they give over 700 possible combinations.
- Shape page: detailed control over each module in the chain.
- Modulation page: an envelope follower, an LFO with a secondary LFO, and a 16-step sequencer; a Movement dial scales all modulation at once.
- Mod destinations: drive, tone, feedback and output volume.
- Extras: a gate, feedback, and EQ before and after the distortion.
- Presets: 128 in six categories: Essentials, Drums, Experimental, Guitars and Bass, Keys and Synth, and Rhythmic.
The current version is 1.1.5. The free demo times out after 15 minutes.

When to use it
FURY is the pick when you want to build stacked, characterful distortion and animate it with rhythmic modulation inside one plugin. Compared with Saturn 2, it has no multiband splitting and far fewer modulation targets, but its fixed Drive, Distortion and Tone chain makes it quicker to find a sound. It is closer to Trash in approach, with stacked modules and filtering, and adds a built-in step sequencer for rhythmic effects. Unlike Devil-Loc Deluxe, a fast one-knob crusher, FURY rewards exploring its modules and pages. It also lacks automatic volume compensation, so you need to level-match by ear when comparing settings.
- Best for: aggressive drums, gritty bass and synths, guitar and bass tones in amp-sim chains, and rhythmic distortion effects.
- Genres: electronic, metal, rock and cinematic sound design.
- Look elsewhere if: you want multiband distortion with deep modulation (Saturn 2) or subtle analog warmth (a tape or console saturator).
- Tip: MusicTech found it at its best when pushed hard, especially for cinematic sound design.
