What it does

Harrison Vocal Flow (formerly AVA Vocal Flow) is a "complete vocal processing solution" with seven effects for the weight, timbre and warmth of vocals, built around Harrison's pitch-tracking 'Character' processing.

Vocal Character: a 2-band vocal EQ that follows the pitch of the notes and moves its curve along the spectrum, for body and clarity.
De-esser and leveler: Harrison's de-esser algorithm, and a leveler derived from the Mixbus channel strip compressor with threshold, attack and gain-reduction metering.
32C Channel EQ: four bands modeled on the Harrison 32C, plus switchable high- and low-pass filters.
Effects: a chorus based on Harrison's XT-MG Micro Glide, a slapback-style delay and a reverb for space.
Master controls: input, output and routing to reorder the modules.

The current version is 3.1.0. It has a 14-day free trial and is included in SSL's Complete Access subscription.

When to use it

Vocal Flow is a one-window vocal chain with a unique pitch-tracking EQ. iZotope Nectar 4 has more modules and assistive features, SSL's Native Vocalstrip 2 offers SSL-style vocal EQ and dynamics without effects, and FabFilter Pro-DS is a dedicated de-esser. Pick Vocal Flow if you want de-essing, leveling, 32C EQ and short effects in one plugin, plus the Character EQ that tracks the melody.

Best for: lead and backing vocals that need a quick, complete chain, and matching vocals recorded on different mics.
Genres: pop, R&B, rock and hip-hop.
Look elsewhere if: you need long delays or a choice of reverb types; users found the built-in delay short and the reverb plate-like.
