DeEsser by Harrison

A de-esser based on Harrison's console de-esser algorithm, now in its fourth generation. It targets harsh sibilance while leaving other consonant sounds alone.

It has very low latency, so it can be used live as well as on vocal and dialogue tracks in a mix. It was previously sold as AVA De-Esser.

Best for: Vocals. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: vocals, dialogue, low latency, mixing, corrective, live performance, spacious.

What it does

DeEsser (formerly AVA De-Esser) is the latest version of Harrison's de-esser algorithm, now sold through Solid State Logic.

When to use it

A simple, fast de-esser for vocals and dialogue, and useful live thanks to its low latency. It has fewer options than Pro-DS or SuprEsser, but the Auto-Solo helps find the problem band quickly.
