What it does

Evolve Air, released in February 2026, is a sample-based synthesizer for "ethereal, breathy textures, wind instruments, and spacious atmospheres." Its 250 presets include distant vocal phrases, ghostly pads and cinematic spaces.

Sound sources: 250+ sources in Chords, Hits & Percussive, Instruments, Multisamples, Synths, Textures and Vocals. A quad-layer engine gives four sources, each a sample player or synth oscillator.
XY Pad: Sounds mode blends the four layers in real time; FX mode sweeps effect and filter parameters.
Macros: Mist (grain and texture), Drift (pitch modulation), Frost (delay) and Cloud (reverb).
Modulation: 12 sources (six ADSR envelopes, two LFOs, velocity, keytracking and the XY pad) assigned by drag and drop; 1 to 32 voices, legato and glide up to 5000 ms.
Filters and FX: dual filters (HPF, LPF, band-pass, peak) in series or parallel, and a three-slot rearrangeable chain drawn from 16 modules such as saturation, bitcrush, delay, reverb, compressor, phaser, auto-wah, speaker, width and pitch drift. User samples can be imported, and one click randomizes sounds, parameters or effects.

KVR lists version 1.0.0. It is sold through Plugin Boutique, and a Lite edition and a rent-to-own plan are also offered.

When to use it

Evolve Air is a middle ground between Omnisphere 3 and Arturia Pigments 7, which can make similar ambient pads with far deeper engines, and Spitfire's Originals Cinematic Pads, a simpler preset player. It has four sample or oscillator layers blended on an XY pad with a curated airy sound set, so it suits producers who want atmospheric results quickly with some room to tweak.

Best for: ambient pads, breathy textures, evolving drones and cinematic beds.
