Bloom Synth Atmosphere by Excite Audio

An ambient instrument in Excite Audio's Bloom series that plays synth phrases, drones and textures from 14 sample keys, with a sequencer, macros and effects.

It draws on Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Brian Eno, and the black keys change how the white-key samples play, so evolving beds come together quickly.

Best for: Keys & Synths, Sound Design. Genres: Ambient & Cinematic, Electronic & EDM, Lo-Fi.

Keywords: textures, drones, lo-fi, sequencer, macro controls, sample-based, hardware emulation, pads, simple, beginner-friendly, cinematic, dreamy, evolving, preset-driven, rent-to-own, sound design, subtle, tempo-synced.

What it does

Bloom Synth Atmosphere is a phrase-based instrument for ambient soundscapes, drones and atmospheric textures, released in February 2025 as the first synth-focused title in the Bloom series. The developer says it aims to give "layers of depth" through "washed out melodies, chords, or subtle textures."

KVR lists version 1.0.0. A Lite edition and rent-to-own are also offered.

When to use it

Bloom Synth Atmosphere sits between full synths such as Omnisphere 3 and Padshop 2, which go much deeper into pad programming, and Spitfire's Originals Cinematic Pads, a simpler preset-led pad player. It is built around ready-made phrases and textures you trigger and reshape, so pick it when you want an ambient bed fast rather than a patch built from oscillators.

What producers say

Plugin Boutique buyers rate it highly for ease of use and presets; the main reservation is that it is a sample player rather than a synth.
