When to use it
Bloom Bass Impulse trades synthesis depth for speed: you pick and sequence finished synth bass sounds rather than design them. It gives less control over the sound itself than SubLab XL and Sub Destroyer, which are synth-based bass instruments, and where 808 Studio 2 focuses on 808-style bass, Bloom Bass Impulse offers heavily processed synth bass. Choose Bloom Bass Impulse when you want ready-made, heavily processed bass loops and hits you can rearrange quickly.
- Best for: fast drum and bass, dubstep, acid and tech bass parts, and bass ideas for sketches.
- Genres: drum and bass, dubstep, techno, house and other electronic styles; also hip-hop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want to program a bass sound from oscillators; SubLab XL or a full synth gives far more control.
- Standout: the Phrase Player with swing and latch, which turns one-shots into moving bass lines.
What producers say
Buyers rate it well for punchy, heavy bass tones; some find the editor clunky.
- Plugin Boutique customers (as of 2026, 4.6 stars from 446 ratings) praise the sound quality and the punchy, heavy and musical bass tones.
- Gripe: some Plugin Boutique reviewers found the editor interface clunky and the reliance on pre-made samples restrictive.
