Temperance Lite

Not rated yet
Simplified modal reverb with three spaces and resonances controlled via a 12-note chromatic keyboard.
Best for: Vocals, Keys & Synths. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: keys, mixing, room, vocals.
What it does
A cut-down version of Temperance, a modal reverb whose resonances you can shape by musical note.
- Temper knob: at centre it acts as a normal reverb; turning it up emphasises the selected notes and turning it down reduces them.
- Note selection: radial buttons for the 12 chromatic notes, range sliders to limit the affected frequencies, and a NoteScape display.
- Spaces: three, called Bright Room, Large Studio and Synthetic Space.
- Controls: mix, decay, pre-delay, size and reference frequency.
- Other: 15 presets (5 of them tutorials) and latency under 1 ms.
When to use it
Lite is the cheaper entry to the tunable-reverb idea, for keeping a reverb in key with a track. It offers fewer spaces and lacks the sequence and MIDI note modes and other controls of Temperance Pro.
Suits ambient, cinematic, electronic and pop production where reverb tails could clash with the key.
