What it does

A delay utility for lining up tracks with sub-sample precision, aimed at multi-mic recordings.

Resolution: time shifts down to 1/64th of a sample, with coarse and fine controls.
Negative delay: can move a track earlier in time.
Phase invert: button for polarity correction.
Calibration: four methods for matching signals.
Included: Precision Time Delay, for DAWs without delay compensation.

When to use it

A specialist tool for phase problems between microphones, such as drum overheads and close mics, or a DI and a mic'd amp. A normal DAW delay works in whole samples or milliseconds; this goes finer to remove comb filtering.

Best for drums, guitar and bass cabs with several mics, orchestral and acoustic recordings. It has little use on single-source or fully synthesised material.
