What it does
Instant Phaser Mk II is a recreation of Eventide's 1972 Instant Phaser, which the developer calls the first studio rackmount box to produce a tape-flanging-like sound.
- Modes: Shallow, Deep and Wide, the last with independent left and right phasing.
- Control: Manual, Oscillator, Envelope Follower (with side-chain) and Remote (mod wheel).
- Age knob: simulates component drift over time.
- Other: Depth to blend phased and dry signal, Feedback, and input and output gain.
When to use it
A phaser with the character of the early Eventide hardware and an envelope follower for touch-responsive sweeps. Next to PhaseMistress, it is the more vintage, simpler option.
- Best for: electric piano, guitar, synths and drum loops.
