What it does
The alpha compressor V2 emulates elysia's discrete Class-A mastering compressor and adds plugin-only features.
- Compression: ratio, attack, release and threshold, with feed-forward and feed-backward types.
- Mastering tools: M/S matrix, sidechain filter, parallel blend, Niveau EQ, stereo width and mono maker.
- V2 additions: resizable UI, Brainworx TMT, TX-Drive transformer modelling, Headroom, Auto Output Gain and Ambience.
When to use it
It is a clean, controlled compressor made for mastering and buses, with more precise control than character compressors. It would sit alongside SSL G-Master Buss Compressor for glue, though it is more transparent.
