What it does
Arche is a bassline generator and mutator: it writes MIDI basslines that follow a chosen key and scale or an imported chord progression, then lets you reshape them. You send the result to any bass instrument in your DAW.
- Harmony input: pick a key and scale, or import a MIDI chord progression for the bassline to follow.
- 16 style engines: each with its own character, including Disco, House, Acid, Pop and Cinematic.
- Rhythm modes: Style Specific, Euclidean, Turing and Fibonacci patterns.
- DNA and Mutation engines: load imported basslines into DNA Engine slots to transform them, and generate variations with adjustable mutation intensity.
- Phrasing: phrase patterns such as ABAB, AAAB, ABCD or a custom one, applied to rhythm alone or to rhythm and pitch.
- Humanization: Pocket (timing), velocity variation and syncopation, plus Anchor Min and Max to set the pitch range.
- Editing and export: a built-in piano roll for adding, moving, transposing and resizing notes, snapshots for A/B comparison, an internal sound for auditioning, and drag-and-drop MIDI into the DAW.
Version 1.2.1 has preset saving, a resizable interface and several UI themes. It is sold through the developer's Gumroad store, and a Max for Live version is sold separately.

When to use it
Arche is the better pick when you want a quick, cheap way to get genre-shaped basslines over chords you already have. Compared with Mixed In Key's Captain Deep, it is a single low-cost plugin and adds generative rhythm modes such as Euclidean, Turing and Fibonacci. Unlike a bass synth with a built-in sequencer such as D16's Phoscyon 2, it makes no finished sound of its own beyond an audition voice, so you pair it with whatever bass instrument you like. Its DNA and Mutation engines also let it rework a bassline you imported, which a plain pattern generator cannot do.
- Best for: fast basslines over an existing chord progression, and fresh variations of a bassline you already wrote.
- Genres: disco, house, acid, pop and cinematic music.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a bass sound and a pattern sequencer in one plugin; a sequenced bass synth such as Phoscyon 2 is simpler.
