What it does
DeeVocoder is a stereo vocoder built from filter banks, like hardware vocoders, rather than FFT processing. Dotec-Audio aims it at a "fat analog sound," and the filter-bank design means it adds no latency.
- Filter-bank design: a stereo vocoder in the style of analog hardware, not an FFT type.
- Band count: switch between 8, 16 and 32 bands; fewer bands give a coarser, more analog character, more bands give clearer speech.
- Zero latency: the non-FFT design adds no delay, which suits live playing and monitoring.
- Band balance: LOW, MID and HIGH faders set the level of each part of the band range.
- Formant shift: moves the formants to change the apparent gender of the voice.
- Side-chain carrier: feed an external instrument in through the side-chain input to blend it with the voice.
- Credits: sound design by Franck Shigetora.
Version 1.0.3 (13 January 2026) follows the first release of 18 October 2020. The free demo is fully featured but inserts one second of silence every 30 seconds.

When to use it
DeeVocoder is the pick when you want a classic robot voice or talking synth with no added latency and only a few controls. Unlike Nectar 4 or Vocal Rider, it is not a vocal mixing tool at all: it uses the voice to shape another sound. Compared with Waves Harmony or Auto-Tune Pro 11, it makes no attempt at natural harmonies or pitch correction, only the synthetic vocoder effect. Its 8/16/32 band switch and three balance faders keep it quicker to set than larger vocoder plugins, at the cost of deeper per-band control.
- Best for: robotic vocals, talking synths and live vocoder parts where latency matters.
- Genres: synth-pop, electronic, funk and pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want natural harmonies or pitch correction (Waves Harmony, Auto-Tune Pro 11) or vocal mixing and repair (Nectar 4).
