What it does
DeeFX is Dotec-Audio's performance multi-effect: distortion, filter and delay built into one panel and played with sliders, "like DJ effector, Guitar pedals". The idea is to improvise without switching effects or presets, so the sound never has to stop.
- Distortion: a heavy, fat distortion that the developer says has more bottom end than a usual metal distortion.
- Bit Crusher: an alternative lo-fi distortion type, added in version 1.1.0.
- Filter: a sharp, edgy filter played without needing to set cutoff and resonance numbers.
- Delay: tempo-synced delay that can also be reversed.
- Filter-delay sync: the filter can be synced with the delay, so the familiar filtered-echo combination is one move.
- Vinyl Stop: a turntable-stop effect that slows the sound to a halt, also added in 1.1.0.
The current version is 1.1.8 (13 January 2026). The free demo inserts one second of silence every 30 seconds.

When to use it
DeeFX is the pick for quick, hands-on DJ-style moves rather than detailed effect design. Compared with Effectrix2 or Stutter Edit 2, it has no step sequencer or gesture-preset system, so it is less suited to precise glitch edits but faster for live builds and drops. It is much smaller in scope than Infiltrator 2 or Multipass, which let you build long effect chains; DeeFX gives you only distortion, filter, delay and vinyl stop. Unlike Transit 2, it has no single macro that sweeps a whole transition. Its strength is the heavy distortion and the synced filter-delay pairing on a few sliders.
- Best for: live-style transitions, breakdowns, builds and filter-delay throws on synths, drums and full loops.
- Genres: electronic music, techno, house and hip-hop.
- Look elsewhere if: you want step-sequenced glitch and stutter effects (Effectrix2, Stutter Edit 2) or a modular effect chain (Infiltrator 2).
