What it does
DeeField is a vocal spatial effect from Dotec-Audio. It changes the stereo picture around a vocal so it blends with the backing track and stays clear, with "no reverberation" added.
- No reverb tail: the vocal gets a sense of space and width in the mix without a tail that would smear words or fill gaps.
- Phantom center fix: aimed at the problems of a dry vocal sitting as a narrow phantom image dead in the center, where it can feel pasted on top of the track.
- Clarity: designed to blend the vocal into the music while keeping it intelligible.
- Mono compatible: the effect is built to hold up when the mix is summed to mono.
- Base for effects: meant to sit under reverbs and delays as a foundation, so those can be used more lightly.
- One dial: the main control is a single dial, so setting it is quick.
- Processing: 64-bit double precision.
Version 1.0.1 (13 January 2026; first released October 2023) is the current release. The free demo inserts one second of silence every 30 seconds.

When to use it
DeeField is the pick when a lead vocal sounds too dry and too far in front, and you want it to sit in the track without adding a reverb tail. Compared with S1 Stereo Imager or bx_stereomaker, it is narrower in scope: it is built for one vocal and one dial, not for shaping the width of whole sources or mixes. Unlike Abbey Road Reel ADT, it does not create a doubled, moving copy of the voice, so the vocal keeps its single-take character. With so few controls, it suits quick vocal work more than detailed stereo design.
- Best for: lead and spoken vocals that feel pasted on top of the mix, and as a first stage before reverb or delay sends.
- Genres: pop, singer-songwriter, R&B, hip-hop and any dense mix with a lead vocal.
- Look elsewhere if: you want audible doubling (Abbey Road Reel ADT or Dotec-Audio's own DeeDoubler) or detailed width control on instruments and buses (S1 Stereo Imager, bx_stereomaker).
