DeeFat by Dotec-Audio

DeeFat is an auto compressor run from a single slider, aimed at making sounds thicker and fuller.

It has a bass enhancer button with adjustable amount, is light enough for live use, and costs $50.

Best for: Drums, Bass, Vocals, Mix Bus, Keys & Synths. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: bass, enhancement, drums, single knob, synths, thick, beginner-friendly, mixing, vocals, fat, multi-band, bus processing, full mix, live performance, metering, minimal controls, mix bus, punchy.

What it does

DeeFat is an auto compressor built around one slider: you set how much, and the plugin handles the rest. The developer's pitch is simply "FAT sounds", and Computer Music describes it as compression, multiband analysis, filtering and enhancement working together behind that one control.

The current version is 2.5.6 (21 April 2026). The free demo inserts one second of silence every 30 seconds.

When to use it

DeeFat is the pick when you want a sound thicker right now and do not want to think about compressor settings. Compared with CLA-76 or Pro-C 3, it gives up all control over attack, release and ratio in exchange for one slider and a bass boost. MJUC also adds colour, but it has variable-mu character and several knobs to learn, while DeeFat stays a single gesture. Unlike The Glue, it is not a bus compressor you tune to the groove; it is closer to a quick fattening effect, and it costs less than most of these.

What producers say

The one press review found it a useful zero-effort tool for beats and bass, with care needed at high settings.
