What it does
EQuilibrium is DMG Audio's large, highly configurable EQ, aimed at critical mixing and mastering work. It mixes clean digital curves with models of vintage EQ circuits.
- Bands and range: 32 parametric bands with a Q range of 0.1 to 50 and up to 36 dB of gain.
- Circuit models: curve types modelled on classic EQs, plus Butterworth, Chebyshev, Bessel, Elliptic and allpass filter types.
- Phase: choose linear, analog, minimum or zero-latency phase behaviour.
- Processing: stereo and mid/side modes, with surround support up to 7.1.
- Tools: spectrum analyser with several display modes, K-metering, 8 A/B banks and adjustable CPU use.

When to use it
EQuilibrium is a mastering-grade Swiss army knife rather than a quick, pretty EQ. Where FabFilter Pro-Q 4 is prized for its interface and workflow, EQuilibrium's appeal is the sheer range of filter types, phase modes and analog curve models in one plugin.
- Best for: mastering, and mix jobs where you want to switch between clean digital and console-style curves without changing plugins.
- Look elsewhere if: you want fast, visual point-and-drag editing; the setup wizard and deep options take some time to learn.
