It has three interface modes, a spectrum analyser and VU metering, and costs about $132 (£99.99).
Best for: Mix Bus, Mastering, Vocals, Acoustic Instruments. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: metering, linear-phase, mid/side, built-in analyzer, mastering, minimum-phase, bus processing, clean, full mix, mix bus, undo/redo, A/B compare, corrective, mixing, musical, resizable UI, static, transparent, vocals.
What it does
EQuality is DMG Audio's general-purpose parametric EQ. It does not model any hardware unit; DMG aims for filter shapes "as close to the consistent analogue shapes" as digital allows, without added saturation.
- Processing modes: Digital, Analog and Linear Phase options; the analogue-phase mode matches the phase response of analogue filters.
- Parametric bands: ±36 dB of gain and Q from 0.1 to 50, with adjustable gain-Q interaction for a more musical response.
- Shelves and filters: high and low shelves with movable resonance, high-pass filters at 6 to 36 dB/octave with sweepable resonance, and an extra high-pass for rumble.
- Range and Shift: a Range control scales the whole EQ curve up or down, and Frequency Shift retunes the whole response.
- Mid/side: M/S processing for working on the centre and sides separately.
- Metering: a spectrum analyser with readout, a configurable VU meter with K-metering and variable ballistics, and a clip LED.
- Workflow: three UI modes, eight A/B banks, presets with undo/redo, an Autolisten mode for finding frequencies, and a flat reset.
KVR lists version 1.43.

When to use it
EQuality is the better pick when you want a clean, precise EQ with a choice of phase behaviour and a few unusual workflow tools. Compared with Pro-Q 4, it has no dynamic bands and a smaller analyser, but its Range and Frequency Shift controls let you rescale or retune a whole curve at once. Compared with TDR Nova, it adds linear-phase and analogue-phase modes but no dynamic EQ. DMG's own EQuilibrium goes further on curve shapes and phase options, while EQuality is quicker to work with and cheaper.
- Best for: transparent corrective and tonal EQ on individual tracks, buses and the master.
- Genres: any.
- Look elsewhere if: you want dynamic EQ (Pro-Q 4, TDR Nova) or analogue colour (Pultec Passive EQ Collection).
- Tip: Sound On Sound found the analogue-phase mode softer on sources and the linear-phase mode clearer on the master bus; use Range to keep a curve's shape while dialling its strength.
What producers say
Reviewers find it flexible and good-sounding, with the busy interface the main complaint.
- Sound On Sound (Sam Inglis, 2011) called it "a nice-sounding and very flexible EQ", praising the Range and frequency-shift controls, but found the GUI busy and the basic Digital mode "not quite as smooth" as Pro-Q.
- KVR users rate it 4 out of 5 from 1 review, saying it "sounds great" and works well as a clean mastering EQ, but wishing for a larger, resizable GUI and finding the analogue modes not analogue-sounding enough.
