What it does
Herbert is Brainworx's model of the Diezel Herbert, a 180-watt three-channel high-gain tube amp, approved by Peter Diezel and Peter Stapfer.
- Channels: three (clean, crunch and high gain), each with its own 3-band EQ.
- Effects rack: noise gate, filters, power soak and delay.
- Cabinets: 120 impulse response recording chains.
- Version 1.6.0 (January 2026). Also included in the CORE and PRO subscriptions.
When to use it
Herbert is a single-amp plugin for tight, modern high-gain tones. It has fewer amps than a suite such as Guitar Rig 7 Pro, but it focuses on the Diezel sound with proper cab options.
- Genres: modern metal, hard rock and heavy rhythm parts, with usable cleans and crunch.
