StereooeretS by DDMF

StereooeretS is a stereo field processor that splits audio into three bands with independent width, gain and pan.

It is built to widen a mix without losing low-end punch, with a stereo analyzer for spotting phase problems, for $39.

Best for: Mix Bus, Mastering, Keys & Synths, Drum Bus. Genres: all genres.

Keywords: wide, multi-band, full mix, mid/side, built-in analyzer, bus processing, synths, bass, drum bus, kick, mastering, mix bus, mixing, mono-compatible, room mics, pads, utility.

What it does

StereooeretS is DDMF's three-band stereo widener. It splits the signal into low, mid and high bands so you can widen the upper range while leaving the centre of the low end alone, the aim being more width "without losing punch in the low end".

KVR lists version 2.0.4. Free demos are available.

When to use it

StereooeretS is a low-cost pick for band-by-band stereo control on material that is already stereo. Compared with Waves S1 Stereo Imager, it splits the signal into three bands and adds pan and gain per band as well as width. Unlike Ozone Imager, it has no mode for creating width from narrow or mono sources, so it works on the stereo information that is already there. Its L/R or M/S input makes it handy for fixing or reshaping mid/side recordings too.
