LinComp is a four-band multiband compressor with double-precision linear-phase band splitters, aimed at mastering.
Each band has threshold, gain, ratio, attack and release, and a brickwall clipper is built in, for $39.

What it does
LinComp is DDMF's four-band linear-phase multiband compressor. Its band splitters work in double precision and add no phase shift, and DDMF pitches it as "a tool that belongs in every mastering chain".
- Four bands: freely variable crossover (transition) frequencies between the bands.
- Linear-phase splitting: double-precision linear-phase band splitters, so dividing the signal does not smear phase.
- Per-band controls: threshold, gain, ratio, attack and release for each band, with solo and bypass per band.
- Knee: switch between hard and soft knee compression.
- Master faders: adjust a parameter across all bands at once.
- Clipper: a built-in brickwall clipper on the output.
- A/B states: compare two settings quickly.

When to use it
LinComp is the better pick when you want a plain linear-phase multiband compressor for mastering at a low price. Compared with FabFilter Pro-MB, it has a fixed four bands and no expansion, dynamic-phase mode or range control, but it costs a fraction as much. Compared with the Waves Linear Phase Multiband Compressor, it has one band fewer but adds a built-in brickwall clipper and master faders. Like any linear-phase design it suits mastering more than tracking, and it does not try to add colour the way a single-band bus compressor such as The Glue does.
- Best for: controlling the balance of a master or stem band by band without phase shift between the bands.

- Look elsewhere if: you want dynamic EQ-style bands, upward compression or expansion; Pro-MB offers more.
