What it does
BAX EQ is Brainworx's version of the Dangerous Music BAX EQ, a mastering EQ built on Peter Baxandall's 1950s tone control circuit.
- Filters: low-cut, low-shelf, high-shelf and high-cut, with wide Baxandall curves for gentle slopes.
- Versions: MIX (stereo linked) and MASTER (independent left/right or mid/side, with channel linking).
- Version 1.11.0 (December 2025). Also included in the CORE and PRO subscriptions.

When to use it
BAX EQ is a deliberately simple, wide-brush EQ: two shelves and two filters, tuned to sound natural. Use it for tilting the whole balance of a mix or master, not for surgical fixes.
- Best for: final tonal tweaks on the mix bus and in mastering.
- Look elsewhere if: you need parametric bands; try Pro-Q 4 or NSEQ-2.
Where to buy
- Plugin Alliance: $125
